Is it wrong that I’m not into supercars?

I recently put together a quick video for my YouTube channel explaining why I’m not into the whole “supercar thing”, mostly because I wanted to set some expectations about my future car purchases and how that relates to my car fund project. My hope is that I’m eventually going to end up with a lot of extra money to spend on cars, but I don’t think that I’ll be running out and buying a Ferrari or Lamborghini as soon as I have the means to do so. Seems weird, right?

The honest truth is that I’m a somewhat introverted guy and I hate the feeling of being the center of attention and having people gawking at me. The Corvette I drove cross-country was a fun car, but I’m not going to lie when I say that it was difficult to deal with the attention at times. No matter where I stopped, someone always approached me asking about the car. I don’t mind that at all, but it did make me think twice about the places I drove through and where I stopped for gas and hotels.

Dealing with that sort of attention in a Corvette was doable, but I don’t think I’d be able to handle being in a supercar for very long. That’s why I’d be much happier with a garage full of “lesser” cars (Corvette, 911, GTR, etc) over one Ferrari or Lamborghini.

Can I still be considered a car guy even if I don’t want an exotic? I sure hope so – there are some amazing cars out there to experience and I’d be perfectly happy enjoying my cars outside of the spotlight.
